Andrew Berks

Andrew Berks was born in England in 1992, to British and Canadian parents. He grew up between England and Canada, and now lives and works amongst the rural farmland of Herefordshire, England. Two years studying Fine Art at Queen’s University in Canada, alongside third -party recognition of his early works, was enough to confirm his interest and abilities in oil painting. He has been a professional artist since 2012.
Andrew works primarily in oil on canvas, making use of palette knives to achieve a mix of the abstract and precision details. He enjoys creating this sense of dual perspectives, and achieves his style by building up transparent layers as well as bolder, more refined features. Andrew favours landscape and animal paintings, with a particular interest in cows' calm, yet imposing presence. He has also made successful forays into portrait work.
